Error Cannot find 'file:///C:/Program%20Files/AOL%20Toolbar/welcome.html'. Make sure the path or Internet address is correct."

To fix the issue

1. Remove/Uninstall all AOL software/toolbar

2. Reset IE settings

3. Problem still happening continue:

4. Find the following registry called "First Home Page" located at one of these places:

a. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
b. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
c. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main

5. still can't find it, press ctrl+F and type "welcome.html"

6. click "find next" it will take a while but it will find it

7. right click the "first home page"  key

8. Select Modify

9. Replace the aol portion with what ever homepage you want

10. click OK

11. close registry


Internet Explorer should start up again
