PRINTER SPOOLER
"error 1053: the service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion"
1. Open run box > type services.msc
2. Look for Printer Spooler > right click and select properties
3. Click on Log On tab
4. Uncheck "allow services to interact with desktop"
5. Click apply
6. Click on General tab
7. Click START

Merge partitions
*backup your data on the volume that you will be deleting
1. Right Click on Computer > click Manage
2. On the left Column under Storage, click on Disk Management
3. Right click the partition that you want to remove, select "delete volume"
4. Right click on the same partition and select "delete partition"
5. Right click on your MAIN partition and select "Extend"
6. Follow the wizard, don't change any settings, just click "NEXT" or "OK"

windows will not save changes after a new background picture is chosen
Method A
1. Open Run box and type %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\
2. Delete the TranscodedWallpaper.jpg file (that is a hidden file), then try to change your background again.
Method B
1. Open Run box and type %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\

1. Type regedit in RUN dialog box and press Enter. Now go to following keys one by one:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies
HKEY_USERS\.Default\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies
2. Under these keys, if you see "ActiveDesktop" key, delete it.
